Camellia Cottage & Log Cabin

Welcome

In 1995, Richard and Leonie Uden moved to Marysville and set up the Country Touch Gallery at 24 Murchison Street; an architect designed mud-brick building in the main street. This operated initially as a pottery studio and showroom for some years until other stock items came in and a country clothing theme took over a greater space, along with gift lines. The pottery kilns were removed in 2003 and the sales area expanded. In 2002 a bus was purchased and accreditation attained as a tour operator with a service to the Lake Mountain snowfields each winter. In 1998 Camellia Cottage was established as a holiday rental with Camellia Log Cabin added in 2002.

On 7th February 2009 everything changed!
A wildfire devastated the village and
surrounding area, taking all this from us.

The remaining operations are now;

  • A bus service to the Lake Mountain snowfields, as well as day tours and charter trips. For full details visit www.lakemountainsnowbus.com

  • Internet access to purchase the country clothing range of products that were available from our shop. Visit www.oilskin.com

It is planned to rebuild the shop and home in Marysville, to open in 2010 – better than ever!
